Edward practices in a wide range of areas of law, including commercial, common law, equity and criminal matters. He has appeared in courts and tribunals in New South Wales and other states as well as federal courts.
The commercial/ equity work includes matters such as landlord/tenant, sale of land, bankruptcy and corporate insolvency, easements, taxation, contested wills and estate, family provision claims, trusts, insurance claims, debt recovery, and planning matters.
In criminal matters, he has appeared in local and district courts. His trial experience includes assault, domestic violence offences, break and enter, larceny, fraud, sexual assault, and drug offences.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Edward worked as a solicitor in medium and boutique firms. He had a broad range of experience with litigation matters in areas of common law, insolvency, corporations law, equity, and insurance law. Outside of litigation, Edward’s experience ranged from conveyancing, banking and finance, planning advice, and general commercial advice. At the time he was called to the Bar, Edward was a senior associate and was supervising at least 3 junior lawyers and support staff at any one time with a broad range of litigation matters.
As well as a barrister, Edward is an adjunct lecturer at the College of Law and gives lectures in advocacy to students. He also reviews and edits the College of Law Practice Papers.
Edward is also a Notary Public and has the authority to attest and certify documents for use overseas.
Qualifications
Edward holds a Master of Laws (Commercial and Corporate Law, International Law) from University of Technology, Sydney; a Bachelor of Laws from University of Western Sydney; a Bachelor of Medical Science from University of New South Wales; an Associate Diploma in Music, Australia (Viola) from Australian Music Examination Board; and an Associate Diploma in Music, Australia (Piano) from Australian Music Examination Board.
